Hey everyone. I don't know if anyone really knows this but when you relax your hair, you are trying to make the curls more manageable, not straight. Because of the harsh chemicals in the relaxer, you shouldn't spend extra time with the relaxer in your hair and/or comb vigorously trying to make your new growth straight. That what causes alot of breakage. You should just make sure they atleast somewhat straight. I'm sure you know what I mean. It doesn't have to be bone straight.

This was told to me by this hairdresser I went to once. It makes alot of since to me. I know I use to spend unnecessary amount of time with the relaxer on my head try to straighten my new growth. I ended breaking my hair off very bad on the edges in the front on both sides. It went from chin length to really short stubs. They even changed from black to really light brown! I was so upset. I got a hair dye within a week after, not knowing if is good to do that or not.

But does anybody agree. Or have a different view?

I understand what you mean but also keep aware of the timing when relaxing.
