Yes you can use a box perm if you like. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU ARE NEUTRALIZING YOUR HAIR YOU MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE PINK OUT THEN USE IT AGAIN AND LEAVE THE NEUTRALIZER IN FOR 10 MINUTES AND THEN WASH IT OUT

I was told about every 3 box perms, you need to get a professional to perm your hair to keep the balance right, kind of like once every few months.
