Graphic but true. That is why I am five years natural and counting. I knew what lied ahead. But for those who do relax, do not be offended. As long as you are SAFE and minimize your applications once every four months, then you will be fine.

It happens. I an not telling ladies not to get relaxers. Just be careful... the second picture with the hair dead in the middlee happened to the side of my hair... with TLC it grew back with relaxer... at one point that side was completely bald when i was younger cause i let my grandmother take care of it and all she used was grease and brushes SMH... I used my ORS fertilizing serum now i got a bush..LMAO

I am so happy to be 6 months post relaxer today !!!!

I will have pics on my back on my stretch page

No, I would never want my hair to go down my back. Smh, that would be too much. I would be satisfied if it stops @ fourteen inches. Anything past that length, I am chopping it off.

My hair is currently at my collarbone. It was bsl but I chopped the split ends. That is why I am investing in the Split Ender and the CreaClip. Efficiency is KEY!

yeah, I guess my reasoning for stopping relaxers in my liffe was becasue the salons Id go to would have their non licensed shampoo girls slap those perms in our heads and soome would even go as far as brushing the perm through. The scalp would burn so bad and develop chemical burns. When I was younger my scalp would get chemical burns and Id pick the scabs off and not really think twice about it like "Ok, um my scalp is physically injured". It just became too much. The cost of just the relaxer alone not to mention ends being clipped was minimum 70 dollars. Twisted Evil I was always pissed to pay that amount when the perm itself from the beauty supply wasnt more than 20 dollars! What a rip off. I got sick of the thiness of my hair and always being told "You're black your hair can't grow long like the White women.'Now thats crazy as H E double hockey sticks.I had enough of that and so I just started growing my hair out....

THe only reason I am using relaxer is because my mom won't leave the hell alone (i'm making a blog about it today).

For sure when I live on my own, I will be natural. I love natural skin care and I want ALL of me to be natural, including what I put on my hair. Especially when I am older. I won't have young skin that can BOUNCE BACK. I'm sure relaxer only increases the rate at which I will age.

Those scars never happened to me. I DID used to have sensitive scalp due to relaxer because the hair dresser was just very careless. But I don't get it anymore now that I changed stylists and put castor oil on the scalp before treatment. Then I do an ACV rinse to make sure all the chemicals are out.

Relaxer is def. not safe for children. We use a lot of stuff that is not safe for children, actually in this world..
