I have found that doing the protein/moisture balance system every other week isnt what my hair need. I think that my hair has enough protein right now and perhap once a month is best to prevent breakage. Its so true that the hair responds quickly if something is unnecesary for it. _________________ BSL 2011 |

yes, trial and error and Im sick of the error part lmbo,I read the HF homepage side panel topics today and I think they made a valid point which I apparently missed or something when I first stated my journey , I had no idea to use a protein treatment before you shampoo then use a moisturizing conditioner afterward. So,now,I have to complete my Mizani product line with their protein Kerafuse conditioner, and their moisturefuse conditioner for the moisturizing conditioner. The steps are to use the protein conditioner on damp hair for 30 min to an hour, then shampoo with a gentle moisturizing shampoo, then moisturizing conditioner. The confusing part to me is why would hairfinity say do that, but then on another page they said to alternate the weeks in which the protein treatment is used then the other week to do the moisture treatment? |
did you mean to say to apply the protein tx after washing?? since a protein tx is suppose to be applied after washing when the hair is clean otherwise you risk the tx not taking well which means it wont be as effective. |

For me..basically I listen to my hair. If it's extremely soft and mushy I would do a mild protein treatment then always follow up with a moisturizing DC to balance my hair out.
I don't do hard protein treatments because at this point I feel like my hair is healthy enough not do it. knock on wood.
Other ways I get my protein/moisture balance is to cowash with Moisturizing conditioners then apply a protein leave-in such as Aphogoo Pro-Vitamin Leave in, Cantu Shea Butter or Aphogee Green Tea and Keratin Leave in. _________________ http://6footlonghair.blogspot.com/

I decided to purchase the Aphogee two step from Sally's the other day and I got the moisturizing conditioner for free since they had a promo at the time.I was so nervous to try it but lucky enough, it went wonderful.I am pleased with the texture of my hair, now I hae to see whens the next time to do it again.Does anyone know how far you must space the treatments apart? _________________ BSL 2011 |
