I've been doing a little research on hair porosity and I've realized my hair is OVERLY porous. My problem is that I can't seem to find a clear answer as to how I should correct this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Possibly neutralizing shampoo??? Confused

Thanks in advance! Smile

I found this answer on the listed website after the quote:

"Overly-porous hair also releases moisture easily and becomes dry and is easily damaged. Acid-balanced conditioning treatments are used to contract the cuticle layer and lock-in moisture on overly-porous hair."

Just incorporate some ACV (apple cider vinegar) rinses into your weekly routine. 1/4 c ACV in 1qt of water.

yes JessicaG
you're hair maybe porous but you can nurse it back to health. Be consistent in what you use and stay healthy too. I used Mega tek and it did help me but I also tried MTG. Find what works for you and stick to it. Good luck

How do you find out if your hair is porous or not? I know there is the hair analysis, but she said she researched it.

I know my hair is porous when I can take a strand of hair and stretch it out and it easily breaks. The strand will look dried and fragile, sometimes I can even see where it's split. This is a severe case though but usually dry and snaps off in two easily is a sign of porosity problems.

so when the strnd is in the comb, pull that one out then put it between my fingers and tug on it to test it?What about the glass of water trick?Where u take your strand and drop in it the glass of water and if it sinks to the bottom fast then thats too porous?
