My sister is 9 and she has beautiful gold extensions on right now but so far, 2 have fallen out straight from her roots at the same place and left bald spots right at the front of her hair. She has only had the extensions on for 4 weeks now. What should we do? Thanks.

Is her hair colored to match the extensions? Is she relaxed or natural? What type/size are the braids? What is her regimen and how often does she do a moisture/strength routine? What's her hair texture (thick, fine, etc.)?

My first suggestion would be to get those braids out of her hair

Assess the damage

Trim/Cut if needed

Begin to apply weekly, perhaphs bi-weekly deep conditioning protein and moisture treatments

Find a good daily moisturizer

Do not apply ANY CHEMICALS ( relaxer, color, etc.)

No her hair is not coloured.
Her hair is relaxed.
She has 'pick and drop' style and they are small.
She doesn't really have a regimen.
Her hair is medium.

If her hair was in good condition before the braids, then I would suggest a moisture/protein routine to help keep it strong and supple while in the braids. If not, you'll have a lot of excess shedding and breakage during take down. Check this AWESOME site out: www.groafrohairlong.com
Robin, has a great braid regimen and shows everything step-by-step. Even what products to use. Hope this helps!

Her hair was weak.

You should do a protein treatment. Google APHOGEE PROTEIN TREATMENT.

Right after that, you need to do a deep conditioner because the protein can make the hair so tough that it breaks.

She doesn't have a regime... if you are relaxing her hair, she needs to have a routine to ensure that the chemicals do not weaken or damage her hair.
