Okay, I know that I am a certified natural, but I feel compelled to tell my story (it is a brief one, I promise Smile ).

I received my first relaxer application when I was five years old. It was a PCJ relaxer. My hair was smooth, thick, and breakage free. Fast forward twelve years, breakage galore! What the hell happened? I tell you. I touched my hair. Yep, that's right, lil' ole me touch my hair and scalp, and then the patches came. I thought I was getting the family trend (Ronald McDonald) but once I re-evaluated the situation, I soon discovered, "Fool, if you put down the damn hot comb for a minute and concentrate on how to make your natural hair grow, maybe you would not have as much breakage as you do now."

That stuck in my head, and since that bittersweet day 5-5-05 (how lucky are those numbers), I have embraced my natural roots.

I hope that you all, whether you are relaxed or natural embrace your hair just the way it is. KNOW YOUR HAIR. I am not shouting, I just wanted to emphasize my point.

Be Blessed! Very Happy

Bless you too Angee for sharing your story. I know I am pretty fed up with relaxers. I just can't deal with the issues!

Thank you. Relaxers for me was entirely too stressful. Even though it only took 35 minutes to apply, I still had to shampoo twice, condition twice, and apply a leave-in...I could go on with one. It was so annoying! Now, it is such a liberation to just be able to do a hair regiment under three and a half hours. With all of this hair on my head, that is a miracle in its own right.
