I find that a protein treatment is better after the relaxer, but don't forget to moisturize.

I agree with arrowwalker. The worst damage in relaxing your hair occurs after you have relaxed your hair, so I believe that the protein treatment would be more effective after you have relaxed your hair. However, I do recommend that you do a hot oil moisturizing treatment with extra virgin olive and coconut oil the night before you shampoo. Moisturizing your strands could never hurt them, right?

Yeah but irritating your scalp before a perm will definately sign yourself up for burns

Use a protein treatment 5-7 days before a relaxer and 5-7 after one.

A week b4 a relaxer is fine... like aphogee 2 step treatment... i wouldn't want to do one after... too much protien
