Ok guys here is my tutorial finally. I was asked to do one on flat ironing hair to get that "Oh I just walked out the salon without waiting 5 hours to get my hair done while listening to old women gossip and talk about how crazy young people is and stuff" look.

Bare with me. Instructions are not my forte. But I will try my best for you.

Step 1

This is OPTIONAL! You DO NOT have to do this. But I do this every time I flat iron because it not only makes my hair stronger but it makes it denser (Has a lot more swing and falls to your back). So I do a Shikakai/Brahmi treatment.

I get a little bowl and mix the powders. Mind you, I do a heaping teaspoon of each powder. I also add Vatika Oil and my Nu Gro Moisturizing spray. I've been doing this for the past two flat irons. I noticed a decrease in shedding and breakage. So, yeah, I mix them and it looks like this:

Yeah, I know, looks gross. Anyway, I applied to my dry hair and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Then I rinse for atleast 5 minutes.

Step 2

Then I wash with me Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Shampoo and Treatment. Rinse.

Step 3

Then on damp hair I apply my GVP version of Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum and Relaxing Balm. Also some FHI hot sauce, concentrating on mid shaft and ends.

I usually air dry until about 75 - 85% of it's dry then use a mini blow dryer called Jilbere Tourmaline Travel Dryer on low.

Step 4

After that, I begin the flat iron process

With my Hot N Silky Mini Flat Iron, I start from the back, and work my way to the front. I split my hair into 4 sections before beginning. I use tension when flat ironing and I use a comb sometimes.

Then I usually finish with my GVP version of Biosilk Silk Treatment after I finished my flat iron.

My hair looked like this before:
WARNING: May cause nightmares and some vomiting

It looks like my other thread when I'm done:

It's also shiny. I don't why my camera didn't pick that up. You hsve to see it in person. Very Happy

And your done! Let me know if this works for you!

Yes, thank you JP for that highly informative tutorial. You should not be so hard on yourself. I understand every bit of it. Your instructions were very thorough. When I first saw your powder mixture, I kind of got a little hungry because I thought it was applesauce, but then you explained what it was and my munchie craving went away Laughing .

I happen to have the FHI Technique. Do you recommend the FHI Hot Sauce? Is it really a good thermal protector?
